According to the staff and I swear you cannot make this up! Patients were in bed due to quarantine. Yet they were all eating in the dining area at the same time!! They did not change my father’s clothes maybe twice in a week. They even sent another man’s boxers in his suitcase!!!!

Our independent and assisted living community is located within walking... My father lived here for 2 years and I he was very happy at Brookdale Des Plaines. The staff was always helpful and would notify me if there were any concerns regarding my father. We chose Brookdale Des Plaines because it is a large facility and is located in the downtown area of Des Plaines - Which has a lot of stores and restaurants within 1 mile radius.

Unable to move for the most part and declined each day. Due to covid I was not able to see her. Trying to reach someone on her floor to either talk to my mom or a staff member was a struggle. The ONLY nurse i was able to reach and had compassion was louis. The floor manager a short young girl had NO COMPASSION at all. When they told us they were putting mom in hospice they told us we could make an appointment for 2 days later to see her.
If somebody doesn’t like this or that, there are some alternatives to the meals that they give them. There is some construction going on right now on both sides of their street. It is easy to get to, and they have parking.

I came into the facility from back surgery at Christ very hopeful of my recovery. My caretaker and her sister brought my belongings in a Harley bag as it would not fit on the ambulance stretcher along with my walker, misc hospital supplies, and coat. I got sick twice and ended up in intensive care one of the times. I was not offered the opportunity to receive a Covid-19 immunization shot, either from the facility doctor, or for my caretaker to transport me to my doctor’s office. I spent most of my time back and forth from the hospitals, and my quarantine was restarted back to zero each time I returned.
My experience at Brookdale has been very good. They remember your name from the first day. You're never completely alone unless you want to be.

The activities are varied and interesting.... The community was wonderful to work with and always communicated with us. They did do a great job at keeping everything clean. There was a few times that my loved one's room needed a good vacuuming.
